Whats up everybody! In an effort to satisfy the basic needs of children, students, teachers, and surrounding villages where I have been working and living- I want to organize a few projects that will dramatically improve the lives of hundreds of people. As well as give to a few incredibly hard working people who I feel deserve a monetary boost so they can follow their dreams, goals Etc. There are also countless children who cannot afford school fees, and I want to send them to school.
As days have gone by I have curated a list of countless “problems” that have foreseeable and achievable solutions. Ive met and live amongst people who continue to amaze me with their strength and ability to continue their daily lives despite their situation and lack of pay. Ive created this go fund me to help with the monetary cost of what I want to do. It would mean the absolute world to me and countless people if you supported me.
As you know and have probably seen through my daily “stories” I have been working as a teacher here in Uganda. The daily struggle these people deal with has become quite apparent the more I interact with the community, and see first hand the issues.
I have seen children that looked like skeletons die in front of my eyes of starvation. I have seen people as young as 3 trudging through mountains of garbage searching relentlessly for something edible in an effort to satisfy their hunger. I have seen countless people die of ailments that are cured in hours back home. The first day in the country I attended a funeral of a young girl who had died of malaria. She was 9... These are daily occurrences. I have been sick since I’ve been in the country and the pain I feel in my stomach is excruciating and seemingly un-ending, but It’s nothing in comparison to the countless people who are suffering inconceivably. Being in this state of health is seriously uncomfortable, and medicine doesn’t seem to be helping, but this is the state in which most people are in daily. Health in every sense of the word is not a right, it’s a privilege, and I want to do what I can, where I can to educate the importance of it as well as do practical measures for the prolonging of it.
The lack of hygiene is real. The lack of water is real. The lack of a staple diet is real. The lack of medicine is real. The lack of a decent wage is real. The lack of money is real.
The biggest project I want to do is at the school where I teach. At the moment the school is quite literally just walls, a roof and some chairs.. Nothing more...There is no water or electricity, and with the lack of those 2 vital things there is a major lack in hygiene, drinking water etc..This will be my main focus. Every morning the first thing we do is walk about a mile to the closest well and carry 5 gallon buckets of water back and forth. It’s not practical and we run out almost immediately.
I want to build a well, which will consume the majority of the funds, but will literally transform the school and local community. I also want to put electricity so we can pump water from the well into a massive holding tank for when the dry season hits and water is scarce.
I will update the process of everything and document it with video and pictures. The more money we get the more projects and people we can serve all over the community. I also want to capture with film/pictures/writing all that I will be doing so you can see where your donations will be going. I won’t be giving the money to an organization I will be dealing with payments, handouts, etc. as I see fit along with the trusted help of my local friend Nathan who invited me to this country.
THANKYOU and God bless !
