My names Daijonee, I’m the second oldest daughter of Lenny Cruz, the second oldest of 13. On July 13, 2023 I received a message that a body had been discovered in an abandoned apartment building in Worcester Massachusetts & it was believed to be my father. From that day on I was lost and emotional dealing with police, detectives, investigators, & medical examiners. They told me the body looked like it had been there about a month or more, the body was in bad shape and couldn’t be physically identified. I had to then find out his dental history so they could try to match his dental records with his teeth, had to tell them the color of his hair and eyes and how many tattoos he had and where. It took days but then I got the call on July 19, 2023 they called me saying that they’ve positively identified him as Lenny Cruz, my father..I was one of the closest to my dad, he was such a good guy, so loving and goofy, always knew how to make people laugh and smile. He suffered a lot, he had so many battles, and he finally let them overcome him, my heart hurts but it’s also happy knowing he’s now at peace and no longer suffering, he’s at peace with my step mom and his mom.
