AOGA 99 UK fundraising towards Legacy Project 2024
Donazione protetta
Every year, in accordance with the tradition as old students of Aburi Girls Senior High School, a year group after 25 years of leaving the school gives back to the school to support the continious delivery of high quality education and nuturing of young girls like we once were. This is dubbed the Legacy Project. Aburi Girls’ Senior High School is a second cycle boarding school based in the Eastern Region of Ghana, West Africa. Once we complete the school, we become a part of the Aburi Old Girls Association (AOGA).
This year(2024) is the 25th anniversary of the 1999 year group (AOGA '99) and for our Legacy Project, we have opted to refurbish and refurnish the school's kitchen and dining hall. The kitchen and dinning hall over the last 25 years has served thousands of students. A population that has kept growing. Unfortunately due to the growing number of students each year, the appliances, cooking utensils, furniture and the buildings as a whole has failed to sustain and meet the demands placed upon them(please see attached video).
This is a massive and costly undertaking however it undeniably needs to be done to support the current and future students of the the school. In this regard and as part of the larger group, the UK cohort of AOGA '99 has launched this fund raising platform to raise funds towards the project. AOGA '99 UK respectfully requests your assistance and generous contributions towards completing this year's Legacy Project. The 1999 year group is also expected to organise a homecoming and the 78th speech and prize given day at which event the Legacy Project would be proudly unveiled and handed over to the to the school. The expectaion is that the project is completed by August/September 2024 so that it can be unveiled during our homecoming/speech and prize-giving event in November 2024.
AOGA '99 (UK) appreciates all donations, no matter how modest, to help complete this project. AOGA '99 along with the staff and present students of Aburi Girls' High School, thank you for your support. We are counting on your generosity to make this project a reality for our beloved school.
