Hello friends, fans and family! Holly here, your favorite bass player/singer... :-) As you may have read on my Facebook page recently, I plan to release my long-awaited CD, "Leaving Eden ", on May 1st, 2016. Yay! This CD is a collection of stories and songs that I have written over the last 5 years (and even one that I re-recorded from my Los Angeles days). My hope is that you enjoy the music and that there is something in one (or all :-) of the songs that brightens your life for awhile!
Some of you know that the CD has been done for awhile now, and have asked why I did not yet release it. The truth is, I had wanted to do this on my own, and have done so up until now. But as I gather all the credits for the cd and enter the stage where it's time to duplicate the cd's, it becomes a very daunting task - so I decided to start this GoFundMe page for advance orders, and also to offer the opportunity to include various rewards!
Whatever money is raised will be used for the cd duplication, and also towards the cost of doing a promo video, something that has become increasingly necessary in order for indie artists to branch into new territories. I get asked very often for a video, and have never had a good one made and miss out on a lot of opportunities. So, I will use the funds not only for this current project, but also in order to help be in the running for bigger and better opportunities down the road. I have a GREAT band with Andy Hamburger on drums and Buddy Speir on guitar - and with your help we will be able to branch out even further!
This means SO MUCH to me, for the simple reason that we only live once, and I am determined to orchestrate my own life and career as an independent artist and woman in the music business. When I was in L.A. and turned 30, I was dropped by my manager and label for being too old... I guess I've shown them, as I feel I am musically stronger than ever! :-) I don't want to ever stop doing what I do, and along the way I want to make a difference in people's lives. My gratitude will know no bounds and I appreciate the immense support I've received over the last few years!!
I am going to run this campaign through the first week of April, as everything will need to be done and paid for by that point, so please please please feel free to forward this link to anyone you may know who may enjoy what I do and who wants to take a piece of my heart home with them!
