Laurie Worman has been diagnosed with a brain tumor called a Menegenoma. The tumor is growing at a very fast rate and is located on the top of her head (frontal bone), on the outside of her brain (outer cortex), and under the skull.  She has a right posterior frontal parafalcine dural mass. 

Laurie  is scheduled for brain surgery during the 2nd week of October to remove the Menegenoma (brain tumor) that has recently grown significantly, doubling in size.  The tumor is beginning to cause neurological concerns and is pushing directly into critical functioning areas of the brain; so it is imperative that it the Menegenoma removed very soon.  Unfortunately, she will have to miss 3 months of school (WORK) for the surgical recovery such as, but not limited to; seizures, altered mental state, delayed response time and brain radiation treatment.  The doctors are reporting the tumor is benign, but they are doing radiation to be extra safe. She is unable to obtain disability, because they are saying this is a pre-existing condition, so these are days that she will NOT be paid, causing incredible financial hardship.  She is also facing massive out of pocket medical expenses. 

Laurie is a single mom with one of her daughters currently in college and the other daughter is in high school.
