Laurel Gilmour ❤️

Laurel Gilmour is a beautiful and kind 25 year old registered nurse who was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Laurel finished her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Thompson Rivers University in 2018 and has started her career at both Royal Inland and Lillooet Hospital as a casual nurse. Laurel is beyond positive and resilient and, incredibly, Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia has a 95% chance of remission rate. However, in order to be successful with beating this cancer, Laurel is required to complete the first month of her 28 weeks of treatment in isolation in Vancouver General Hospital and continue as an outpatient; requiring her to be in Vancouver. Laurel is very loved and has a lot of support, although, her family is not financially prepared to be there physically to support her and as a casual nurse, so she does not receive medical leave or benefits.
