In recognition of our love and support for the White Family we would like to help support the Halter Organization (http://www.haltersc.org) for
all they do to support sweet Landon and many other children who have similar journeys. This donation will be made in honor of Landon and the White Family.
Landon was born into this world a healthy baby, but after only a short period of time his health took a turn and he has been a fighter ever since. As a 13 year old young man, the doctors have yet to truly diagnose the actual cause for Landon's health struggles. All we know is that Landon's life is full of what the White's call "Landon's Jams". Landon has many treatments throughout the day, every day, but he is blessed with a family that will always stand by his side and support his every need. Landon doesn't speak, but I am sure if he could, he would constantly say to his parents, family, and friends, "I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH" with his arm spread wide (reference- I love you this much by Lynn Hodges & Sue Buchanan ).
We could talk for days about sweet Landon. How he loves a McDonald's fish sandwich, hold the fish. Or how Halloween is one of his favorite holidays because every year the White's get milkshakes, head to Lowes, and sit in the rocking chairs, so Landon can check out all the scary men they have on display. Or how he covers his ears with both hands when he hears a sound that is unappealing. Or how he has touched the hearts of so many people around him!
We could also talk about the commitment it takes from his parents to keep him on a plan to make every day, as good of a day as it can be for sweet Landon. Becoming a parent changes your life and becoming a parent to a child who struggles with health is an even bigger change. One that most people can't understand because it's hard to truly understand any situation without walking in someone's shoes.
With that being said, this event is not about a dollar amount or sympathy. This event is about raising awareness for the right cause and acknowleging those parents, healthcare workers, children, friends, and families everywhere that share a similar story.
Landon and his family lead by example. Landon is not the only fighter in his family, everyone is! They all fight! They fight for their time together as a family, they fight for Landon, they fight to keep up their spirits when the going gets tough, and most importantly they always fight for others. We are all blessed to call the White's our friends and family. We hope this donation touches their hearts, their journey, and the journeys for all the fighters in this world like Landon.
