Lake Sheridan Preservation Fund
Donation protected
Lake Sheridan is a small lake in NE PA. Nevertheless, it has been home to bald eagles since 1999. The birds nest and fledge here and it isn’t uncommon to see two adults and a young eagle flying together. Unfortunately, the lake is exposed to farm runoff, storm water from the mountainside and fertilizer from a nearby golf course which have virtually snuffed out all the oxygen from the lake bottom. While the estimate is $135,000 to aerate the lake and restore it to its health, we are seeking $50,000 in donations to offset the cost to our association members. Many are 2nd and 3rd generation members whose families were only able to purchase property here because this was “the poor man’s lake.” We need your help to keep it affordable for future generations
