On Monday morning, July 17, Kyle Kimbro was "just" an Architecture student at UT, working his way through school as part of a moving crew. On Monday afternoon, Kyle sought medical attention from the local ER and was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  Kyle was told that he needed to have surgery ASAP, and was admitted to the hospital for surgery on Tuesday. On Friday, he found out that he had an aggressive form of the disease and that he would need equally aggressive chemo for 4-5 months, possibly followed by another surgery.

Kyle will be staying in Knoxville for his chemo, but has had to withdraw from school for the fall semester (with positive support and encouragement from the UT Architecture program). The medical team has advised Kyle not to work because the combined demands of his surgery and chemo. While Kyle is unable to work or go to school for several months, his living expenses, of course, will continue.

Many people have asked the Kimbro family how to help, and upon consultation with Kathy, this fund is being set up and administed by Nancy Garrett and Libby Beauchamp, two of Kyle's best mom friends. :)

Any contributions to this fund will go toward Kyle's rent, utilities, healthy food, and other expenses of daily life. We hope that Kyle and his family can concentrate on his health during this difficult and unanticipated challenge.
