KYI Raise the Roof 2014

Tax deductible
We live in the Tongass National Rainforest.

Our youth need a roof on the Shane Howard White skateboard park.  Ketchikan's  amazing 141" average annual rainfall (9.81 in August alone) makes concrete a dangerous surface to skate many days.  A roof will make it a safe resource for our kids year round!  Our $5000 goal is just a start!

During our first summer-2014-the park was packed—thirty to fifty skaters used it daily.  We have distributed over 140 donated safety helmets lending credibility to the estimate of 200 users in total.  The park has become a GREAT resource for youth in terms of physical activity, recreation and positive choices.  [And, it's not just youth we see using scooters, inline skates, and skateboards at the park!]

It's a win-win for youth and our whole community.  Help us raise the roof!
