Our vision:
Namaste to all the yogis who are practicing yoga and anyone who is interested in the practice. My name is Tiffany Pineda, I am a student of Ajay Kumar. He is from Mysore, India. He has been practicing yoga for the past twenty-two years and teaching for the past fifteen years. He has dedicated his life to teaching yoga to his students and anyone wanting to learn. He has helped them achieve better physical and mental states, allowing them to live healthier and more fulfilled lives.
I started practicing with Ajay a couple of months ago and have already learned so much from him. He is an amazing teacher with powerful energy that helps to motivate and encourage you to be the best version of yourself. The Shala where I currently practice with him is in the Chamarajapuram area of Mysore, India is a beautiful, humble space but it is no longer large enough for all the students wishing to come. The new Shala will be in Mysore, India as well. One of my favorite things about Ajay is that he emphasizes practicing the entire yoga practice, not only the physical aspect. He makes it clear that it is not his yoga shala, but OUR yoga shala. We are a family here.
Our dream is to have our own Yoga Shala which resembles a modern Ashram. It should be simple yet comfortable, and most importanly inviting to all.
He is currently renting the yoga shala, as he has been doing for the past 13 years. He has been saving money for the purpose of building the yoga shala and currently has saved $US 90,000. The property alone (the cost of the building is extra) is $US 150,000 and the price is constantly rising. He, and everyone at the Shala, have been working incredibley hard to save the money but we are still short $US 60,000. Once he aquires the property, he will still have to save money for the cost of constructing the Shala which will be over $US 90,000. He is worried that the price of the property will only continue to rise, and myself along with some of his other students thought that this might be a good way to raise funds.
Once he raises the rest of the money to purchase the property, then he will have bought himself time to save funds for the construction of the actual building.
