Kokua Our Kupuna, Aunty Kamala

Kamala Mersberg is one of Kaua'i's treasured kupuna, you will see her everywhere, jetting around on her electric mobility scooter, always smiling, always singing. Aunty Kamala is an inspiration to everyone - raising spirits with her mele and her contagious smile and laughter.
Kamala travels through out the island, attending senior and Hawaiian cultural activities, sharing her mana'o, her good cheer and her beautiful songs. Last week her trusty six-year old motor scooter, that kept her on a move, broke down and she has been relegated to a walker, which is slow and painful and doesn't give her the freedom she has enjoyed so much.
The cost of a new and improved mobility scooter for Aunty is quite reasonable and we are confident that her extensive ohana here on Kauai will be able to help her out. We've already raised $500 towards the $2500 cost of a new electric scooter and the campaign is going so well.
Amazon won't ship the scooter we wanted, but Gammies,here on island, has them and we'll take Kamala there soon as we hit our new goal, we're almost there.
