Kirsten's Uganda Volunteer Trip

In the summer of 2015 and 2016, I traveled to Guatemala with a group from my church. These trips, although short, gave me a passion for serving others, and for learning about other cultures.  That is why I am excited to tell you that I have been blessed with an amazing opportunity. This summer, I will be going to Uganda to volunteer at a hospital for 12 weeks. This trip will combine my passion for serving others with my love for medicine.  
I will be gone May 22- August 24. I will be staying with a host familly in Iganga, Uganda and volunteering at the Iganga Hospital.  For the first 4 weeks, I will be with 9 other students through a program called Global Grizzlies. After they leave, I will be staying for an additional 8 weeks in Uganda on my own.

The cost for airfare will be around $2,000. The program fee for 12 weeks is $1,330. This program fee covers food, housing, airport pickup, and a volunteer placement. With additional costs such as insurance, a visa, and any other costs I might encounter during my time in Uganda I would like to raise a total of $4,000.  We will be purchasing plane tickets in Feburary. The rest of the money I would like to raise before April.
