TAPC Foundation seeks to support youth and young adults who live with Rheumatic Diseases.

Natasha was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis at the age of 13. As a teenager, she experienced the loneliness and the struggle of finding resources to connect with others who shared similar lived experiences. After extensive searching; she discovered a world where she didn’t need to be alone and sought to build it into a community.

In 2021, Natasha set in motion a transformative movement, now known as TAPC. With determination and grit, she created the "Take a Pain Check Podcast" to give voice to the experiences of those living with rheumatic conditions. The podcast's conversations touch on the intricacies of managing chronic illness, navigating relationships, achieving personal milestones, and, most importantly, building a supportive community. It is a beacon of hope for young individuals facing similar challenges.

TAPC's reach extends across the globe and is available onYouTube,Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and iHeartRadio. In addition to the podcast, TAPC maintains a dynamic presence on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook, fostering a digital community where young individuals can connect, share their experiences, and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.

But TAPC's influence goes beyond the digital realm. With approximately 40 dedicated volunteers from around the world, including global youth ambassadors and a medical advisory board, the organization has made a tangible impact on the lives of an estimated 5,000 individuals worldwide. Their initiatives have even touchediconic landmarks, lighting them up in blue to commemorate World Young Rheumatic Disease Day.

As TAPC looks toward the future, it is not content with simply being a support network. The organization has big plans, including an annual STEM scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students with rheumatic diseases; live summits in major cities, support for research in the field; and participation in major conferences to raise awareness that young people get arthritis too. TAPC envisions becoming a vital resource in hospitals and patient centers; and it aims to break language barriers to ensure that no one facing a rheumatic disease feels isolated.

To do this, Take a Pain Check Foundation is requesting your support. If everyone reading donates today, the organization can continue to thrive and support youth with chronic illnesses. The funds will be directly allocated toward spreading awareness. TAPC needs funds to cover the costs of marketing materials which will be posted h in hospitals, clinics and tradeshows; technical equipment for our in-person summits; and to enhance and sustain our online community, supporting activities such as server maintenance, content creation, and more.Your support ensures that TAPC is able to provide support and education to youth and young adults for free.Empowering young people living with rheumatic diseases to advocate for themselves. Your contribution will be instrumental in making a meaningful impact on the lives of these young individuals.

TAPC is not just about building community; it's also about contributing to our understanding of rheumatic diseases. The organization is committed to supporting research initiatives that deepen our knowledge of these conditions, with a holistic approach that brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, and patients. This collaborative ecosystem is a vital step toward improving treatments and support systems for young individuals with rheumatic diseases. Natasha's journey from isolation to empowerment has sparked a flame of hope for countless young individuals facing similar challenges. TAPC is proof that even in the face of chronic illness, a determined community can bring about profound change and support one another to lead fulfilling lives.
