Kidney Bros: A Lifesaving Kidney Donation
Donation protected
Diabetes is truly the “silent killer”. My brother Brad now has stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease and End Stage Renal Failure. Though he’s lost 125 pounds and no longer has diabetes, he now requires almost daily dialysis.
Dialysis is only a bandaid - this stopgap will give him another 5 years, 10 if he’s lucky. The only true cure for renal failure is a kidney transplant. A kidney transplant from a living donor can extend the recipient’s life for 20 years or more. Our brother, Josh has offered one of his kidneys to help save Brad’s life, while also improving the quality of his life dramatically!
The match has been made and the plan is set! On May 13, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Dallas, Brad and Josh will both go into surgery - one to donate, one to receive.
Our family are here to support us but we also know that these procedures and their effects on both their lives will be significant. We are seeking help with travel costs for Josh & Brad to help with with out of pocket medical costs for both as well as travel and related expenses as Josh is coming from Wisconsin and has to stay in Texas for at least 2 weeks.
All of us would greatly appreciate any help you can give!
