It took a pandemic to make #InThisTogether trend on social media, but for us, that's been our everyday reality since we got into this business. We are newspeople. We are the messengers, watchdogs and servants of our community. We're here because we have always — always — understood that we are in this together.
Now, the hard times that we've written about all too often have befallen 11 of our own. This campaign will end Friday, April 10, and the proceeds will be distributed equally among them. Maybe it just ends up being enough for a grocery run, or a delivery of their favorite meal, or a few adult beverages at the end of a long, long day. But we can give them that.
We can remind them that we are still in this together.
