Kez's Fight-I'll go short blue hair
Donazione protetta
Meet my beautiful friend Kerry. Know to most as Kez/Kezza and some privileged few (aka me) as Kez Wee!
A single mother, daughter, partner and friend, Kez's world was flipped on its head on Dec 2015 when she received a call direct from the pathologist.
" I can't get a hold of your doctor" he said...."I'm sorry to have to tell you this" he said...."You need to get to the Alfred Hospital NOW" he said...."I'm certain you have leukaemia" he said.
What was a spreading rash that many doctors had said was an allergic reaction or a heat rash, was actually acute myeloid leukaemia and Kez's fight was about to begin.
Five months of intensive chemo and radiotherapy and all the awful side effects that go with it, Kez just got on with it. Never complained, almost sheltering her closest villages of any struggles she was enduring.
You see Kez is the quiet achiever who is always giving. Even whilst in hospital having treatment she was still raising money for the relay for life team " The Cancer Busting Fairies", still tried to continue working on her laptop for her employer (between fevers, vomiting, ) and trying to FaceTime her kids most nights.
Then the news we were all waiting for came at the end of April 2016. Remission.
However, in Dec 2016 - (12 months to the day of her initial diagnosis) Kez was told she was no longer in remission.
All gloves are on - chemo, radiotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
A very proud woman, she will most likely kill me for doing this. Quite frankly not much she can do when she's currently in isolation for high fevers with a suspected infection. It's time for this villager to act.
Expenses don't just stop while your fighting. Kez has a mortgage that still needs to be paid, medical and other household expenses.
So, if you have a few bucks to spare and want to see me cut my hair ultra short and have blue streaks ( Kez Wee's fav color)
Please click on the donate button.
Project - Blue hair for Kez Wee will happen in late Feb 2017. Thankfully, I'm not afraid of peacocks!
If anything it will give the girl a laugh that I'd go blue for her!
Please note that this page is set up by me for Kez to use for mortgage /medical/personal expenses or to donate to a charity of her choice. She can access the funds at anytime.
Thanks for your time. X
