To know my dad, Kevin Reid, was to love him. He was indeed a special guy. He was funny, witty, a great father, and a loyal friend.

My dad had a giving heart and was full of life. He loved to laugh and make others laugh.

As many of you know, he was one of the best athletes to play at West Charlotte High School and throughout all Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. He was co-captain of the 1986 State Championship Basketball team. After High School, he played basketball at Winston-Salem State University and Johnson C Smith University, where he made lifelong friends.

In 2000, my dad was involved in a severe car accident that paralyzed him. Although he faced many obstacles with his health and financial burdens, my dad was determined to live life.

We appreciate all of the phone calls, text messages, prayers, and love everyone has shown us.

As our family grieves his loss, many of you have asked what you can do to support our family. Any financial assistance you can provide to help with the service arrangements and other financial needs is greatly appreciated.
