Kerry's Disabled Exercise Bike
Don protégé
Hello everyone and thank you for reading my story!
My name is Kerry, I am 22 years old and disabled. I have Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, which affects all four of my limbs. I am wheelchair bound, have very limited movement and dexterity, although I do enjoy being as independent as I can.
The worst part of my disability is the muscle spasms I suffer with everyday. I take muscle relaxants to control them. However, I've noticed it has been getting a bit stiff recently which could mean I have to go on more medication. I would really like to avoid this! My doctor has told me before if I could exercise it would help. As I can't walk exercise is really difficult. But, working out would make me feel more mobile, and possibly help with the pain in my hips.
I would love a normal exercise bike, but as I'm disabled I need a special bike. It's called the THERA-Trainer Tigo 510. This specially adapted bike is perfect for me as I would be able to do both leg and upper body exercises.
Any donation big or small is hugely appreciated. This bike really would change the way I live my life. Here is the link to the web page for the bike so you can see what your wonderful donation is going towards.

On a side note - I love F1! I'm a big Lewis Hamilton supporter. Since Lewis started in F1 he has been my favourite driver. My mum and dad are huge Ferrari supporters and it's safe to say I have never supported Ferrari. We have great banter on every F1 weekend, I have said the only way I will ever wear Ferrari gear is if Lewis moves team.
To help raise money for the THERA bike I am willing to don full Ferrari gear for Friday Practice at Silverstone this summer.
Thank you so very much for your kind donation. It makes a huge difference!
Many thanks,
Kerry
