Kerren Shepherd - Terminal Cancer

Donation protected
Hi my name is Emma and I have known my dear friend Kerren for 14 years, we met when our daughters went to the same daycare, all those years ago.
Since that day we have spent many beautiful times and memories together. Kerren has been a very loyal, honest, loving and beautiful friend, the best anyone could ask for.
Then 10 months ago Kerren discovered a lump in her neck, 4 days later after various tests and a mammogram, she had the devastating news that she had a rare form of Breast Cancer. A week later Kerren had to have more tests, unfortunately, it had already spread to her lymph nodes under her arm and neck.
NOW it has spread to her brain and is now terminal!

My reason to raise this money for Kerren and her beautiful family who are - husband Kain who has always been amazing, we have all had so many fun times and giggles and I love his DJ mixes, but deep down my heart hurts me to see what he is going through. Then we have their 2 beautiful children, Malu aged 15 such a gorgeous girl the same age as my daughter Hannah. Malu helps me do her Mum’s markets, she has to get out of bed at 5.30am on a Sunday morning ouch! but she does it bless her. Then we have Taane aged 12, he has such a beautiful heart, since this horrid situation he’s taken on the role of cooking many nights for the family.

The money I hope to raise is for Kerren’s next round of radiation to try and stop the growth of the cancer in her brain, of which each individual session alone will cost approximately $3,000. Whilst they have had private insurance for over 20 years unfortunately for many of her treatments, scans etc in the past 10 months, they have not been fully covered. Personally, I have wanted to set up this page for a while but I haven’t as they have wanted the privacy of her Cancer journey and also none of us ever envisaged it would get to the terminal stage in which it has now. Any funds raised, firstly would be so greatly appreciated and hopefully will help cover the treatment as mentioned above. Kerren has already endured 6 months of hardcore chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, the removal of many lymph nodes and 6 weeks of radiation treatment to other areas of her body. She has only been able to work at a very minimal capacity for over 10 months due to her low immunity and the side effects caused by treatment. Kerren’s loss of income has cost her family many thousands and will now continue to do so now that the cancer has spread.

Once again, as I have said this has taken me until now to do this. Well finally after having permission from Kerren, which I totally respect, I can say from my heart that this past 10 months has been extremely emotional for all of us. This whole process that Kerren has gone through, after every appointment, test etc , it has been for her, continuous negative results and news. All I can say is that Kerren’s strength through all this inspires and amazes me to this day and hopefully many more years
Thank you to you all xx
