New Lungs For Ken
Donazione protetta
Hello, My name is Ken Widner. In November of 2016, overnight it was like someone flipped a switch and I couldn't breath. I was diagnosed with a rare liver/lung disease called alpha one antitrypsin deficiency disease, aka inherited emphysema. I was prescribed oxygen and started weekly IV infusions.
Over the past few years my lung function has continued to decline to the point that there is nothing that can medically be done to help except for a lung transplant. I have been to the University of Utah Lung Transplant Center in Salt Lake City Utah and am now preparing for the procedure. I have to relocate within 100 miles of the hospital in Salt Lake for 6-12 months or longer. There are also post transplant medications that average around $2000 a month. Once I can prove I have funding for housing and these medications the Transplant Center will put me on the national transplant list and I've been told the average wait time for new lungs is 30-90 days. I've also been told when I leave the hospital after the transplant I will no longer be on oxygen.
There is no way I could ever thank you for donating to help me through this but even if you can't help with a donation please share this. Share this and ask your friends to share this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and may God bless each and every one of you.
