As some of you may or may not know, Kayleigh's husband Matt has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour not long after the birth of their daughter Madison. Matt took it in his stride and they went for scans and were awaiting an operation to remove the tumour, this in itself is a worrying and stressful situation being in Australia with only his wife Kayleigh, 4 year old Charlie and new born baby.
Whilst waiting for the operation date to come round, Matt had some complications, firstly he had a hyperglycaemic episode of 1.1 in which he should have been unconscious but recovered and then ended up in hospital with excessive fluid around his heart. The doctors said he has shown super human strength to still be alive having had this much fluid drained from his heart. When they tested the fluid, the results came back with yet more terrible news, Matt has cancer. They are currently looking into clinical trials and anything they can do to give Matt the best possible care and assist him in fighting the cancer.
Matt is self employed, Kayleigh is on maternity leave with 2 children and they emigrated from England around a year and a half ago to pursue a better life and environment for their children to grow up in. This naturally makes this already horrible situation even harder and even more stressful.
Medical bills, rent, food and general day to day costs are something we just don't want them to have to worry about at this time. It is not in their nature to ask for money or help and Matt is a hugely proud person.
Any help anyone can offer big or small will be greatly appreciated, and we can all play a part in assisting this amazing family stay afloat, and help them, especially Matt fight back and beat this. Sympathy obviously plays its part, but what is really needed is financial assistance to try to alleviate some stress and give Matt the treatment he needs. If you can't financially help please send positivity and have faith that Matt will make it through this!
