Karla Flores Pérez, a 39-year-old woman, bravely shares a very difficult moment in her life. On June 26 of last year, she received a devastating diagnosis: end-stage chronic kidney failure, with her kidneys functioning at less than 10%. Since then, her life has changed drastically. She had to begin hemodialysis treatment immediately and start the search for a donor—a process filled with uncertainty and hope. Currently, Karla attends hemodialysis sessions two or three times a week, depending on the fluid buildup in her lungs. In the midst of this tough journey, she has received an immense gift: her mother will be her donor—an act of love that gives her a new chance at life. With gratitude and hope, Karla thanks those who take the time to listen to her story.
