I am raising funds for my mother, Kareen Walford, who is currently hospitalized in Jamaica after suffering a ruptured cerebral aneurysm that caused bleeding in her brain. She is in critical condition and urgently needs emergency brain surgery and intensive medical care at the University Hospital of the West Indies.

Since Kareen became sick, our lives have been turned upside down. It is hard to put into words what it feels like to know that your mother is fighting for her life and there is nothing you can do except pray, make calls, and desperately try to find the money needed to save her. The hardest part has been the uncertainty. We wake up every day waiting for updates from the hospital and praying that she will make it through another day.

Right now, the family needs approximately $3,000,000 JMD, about $19,500 USD, to cover Kareen’s immediate medical and surgical costs. These funds will go toward the emergency brain surgery she needs and the intensive medical care required to give her a chance to recover and come home to her family.
