This is for the staff of Kiddie Academy of Hoboken get through this time of uncertainty.
The owners of the school have chosen to give parents a reprieve during this time-- and has decided not to charge the parents for the month of April. As a result, the school has had to make some tough decisions in order to survive including putting their loyal staff on unemployment. The owners have made a strong commitment to the staff that they will be rehired on Day 1 when they are allowed to open again.
We know that the government is working on a FAMILIES FIRST CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE ACT to cover 100% of salaries of anyone on unemployment due to Covid (vs the 65% that is currently part of the existing plan). The bill has passed through the Senate and will now go in front of Congress and the President.
While we wait this outcome, we want to ensure the 17 staff + teachers are taken care of:
Minnow: Ms. Diana
Guppies: Ms. Monick + Ms. Melanie
Starfish: Ms. Alize + Ms. Brianna
Jellyfish: Ms. Lyeisha + Ms. Amanda
Seahorses: Ms. Joanne + Ms. Valeria + Ms. Ania
Catfish: Ms. Joyce + Ms. Wanda
Clownfish: Ms. Lauren + Ms. Alecia
Goldfish: Ms. Frenchie
Management: Ms. Trinace + Ms. Michelle
We will be distributing these funds fairly across all the above teachers. If you or your child's class has already contributed to a teacher individually - please let us know - so we can adjust to be fair across the board.
Since parents may want to put into this fund multiple times - we will leave it open until this is over. We will be pulling out funds and distributing evenly across all teachers on the 15th and 30th of every month.
Please donate to our children's caregivers to ensure they can put their health first when making financial decisions for their family during this difficult time.
UPDATE: Due to the massive influx of unemployment requests, the staff was told that it may be weeks before they see a deposit in their accounts. They are staying positive and strong but it is a time of tremendous uncertainty for so many. Let's keep them well taken care of during their time of need.
