Loss of a father in gun violence, Shawn Jemtegaard

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Andrew. Saturday, April 22nd forever changed our family. Due to gun violence, my unarmed brother-in-law lost his life in a parking lot in front of his child and other bystanders. Nothing will ever erase that image from his son's head.

He leaves behind his wife and partner of 20-plus years, my sister, and their 6 kids. My oldest nephew is a stellar student and college football player at UC Berkeley on a full ride because of his 4.0 high school GPA and being one of the top high school football players in the state. Their other 5 children range in age from 3 to 13 years old. They were and will continue to be a family unit.

Shawn was a loved coach in the Yelm School District. On April 25th, the Yelm High School football teamed honored him by wearing their game jerseys to school. He always loved being involved in both of his sons' athletics.

Shawn was the sole provider for their family so my sister could stay home and raise their family. He always made sure to provide for his family. Unfortunately, feeding 6 kids, a car to transport 6 kids, and a house for them is a very expensive ordeal. My parents, my other sister, and I will do everything we financially can to support them while they struggle to get back on their feet after this destruction to their family. The need for them is beyond what we are capable of providing so we are seeking any help possible.
