Luther Johnson V, a Scholar Athlete at Christopher Columbus High School recently received a 1 Year Suspension by FHSAA. It appears that Luther is being targeted in the game of lacrosse. He received his 1st suspension(6 weeks) for restraining a player who  racially taunted and threatened him.  FHSAA denied his Appeal stating that Luther exhibited unsportsmanlike conduct....Luther won the Sectional Appeal which was held  5 weeks later on April 5th, approximately 6 hours before the  biggest game of the year against Belen. Two hours of nonstop physical play where players were hitting  trying to gain control of the ball. There were 6 hits in the series in question. Luther’s  hit being one. Every official ‘s flag went up when Luther hit the opposing player.  Some say cross check others say legal hit play on. Why Luther? He has been taught by some of the best lacrosse coaches and performs how he has been trained. He’s never encountered disciplinary issues on the field or in class. Why one Year instead of one  minute. He feels that he is being targeted. Luther was ejected and later suspended. We don’t know why, but Luther has been targeted and suspended from ALL Sports in the State of Florida by FHSAA. Luther maintains an “A” average.  He has never encountered disciplinary action, not even a detention in school. Luther has earned Honor Roll Status since kindergarten. He’s received Citizenship Honors and is a friend to everyone. He’s being recruited  by some of the most prestigious universities  His character speaks volume. In addition to everything else, he’s an athlete. Luther is a football and lacrosse player. The Suspension would cause him to loose his entire Senior Year of Sports. He is innocent!!
