Our father passed away on 9/2/2014 in Naga, Cebu City, Philippines. From the time I can remember, my father told us that he wanted to be buried at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. My father served over 30 years in the Army National Guard. He was also awarded for his participation in the 1960 Lunch Counter Sit Ins for Civil Rights in Chattanooga.  We are looking for assistance in the shipping of his body back to the United States so that we may fulfill his wishes to be buried in his hometown at the National Cemetery. The military will not assist us as they stated they do not assist with Retired Veterans. The Funeral Home in Cebu is charging us a great deal of money to ship his body and they want their payments upfront and will not take his medical insurance. At this time we do not have the upfront funds to pay for the shipment. We are hoping that you can assist us in any way possible. We are not able to grieve and have closure because we are constantly researching our options. We would be very appreciative of any assistance you could provide.
