Arianna is the middle child of the Bubitz family.  If you haven’t already been introduced to the Bublitz family they are a family of 5.  The dad is Aaron Bublitz, pastor at Mount Lebanon Lutheran Church and School in Milwaukee, WI.  Mom is Laura Bublitz, an Educational Assistant at Mount Lebanon Lutheran School. Micaiah (Mike) is their oldest son, about to be a freshman at Martin Luther Prep.  Arianna (Ari) just completed her 6th grade year, and lastly Keturah (Katie) just finished her year as a 2nd grader.

The Bublitz family has had to endure years of medical trauma and procedures.  Their youngest, Katie, is 2 years out from her 4th brain surgery due to brain trauma at 4 months old due to a genetic condition and then developing intractable (not controlled by medication) epilepsy.  Katie is about a year seizure free, but still dealing with some medical issues, behavioral struggles, and emotional regulation issues. Mom, Laura, last year went through breast cancer and mastectomy.  Arianna was born with a congenital heart defect (subaortic membrane) that was resected with open heart surgery at 2 years of age. Ari just turned 12 and will be having her second open heart surgery on May 30, 2018.

Arianna, on May 30th, will be having what is called the Ross Procedure (https://www.chw.org/medical-care/herma-heart/for-medical-professionals/pediatric-heart-surgery/ross-procedure) due to the fact that her aortic valve is severely leaking and the left ventrical is showing signs of overuse.  It is a long and involved surgery that entails taking the pulmonary valve and moving it to the aortic valve and a cryopreserved, valved pulmonary homograft (or a valve from a donor) is inserted in the position of the original pulmonary root.  She will be in the hospital for about 5 to 10 days and then be home recovering for several weeks along with cardiac physical therapy, etc.

The Bublitz family is blessed and thankful despite and through these trials.  They see them as opportunities to serve their Lord, as God’s hand to build faith, and as ways to reach out and bond with family and friends.  They are abundantly thankful for a loving family, by relation, through friendship and church, and could not have made it through as well as they have without a strong support system and loving arms extended by so many.  THANK YOU!

The fast succession of so many medical procedures, surgeries and appointments (Mom and Kate are still followed closely medically as well due to genetic conditions and post cancer) has been difficult for the family.  If the Lord so moves you to extend help, we thank you. We thank you above all for your prayers.
