Legacy Trust- Ensure Joy’s Legacy within Sofia’s Future!
Donation protected
Our dear friend Santisouk "Joy" Phrasavath tragically lost his life on the night of July 9th while traveling back to Georgia after visiting his family in Florida.
Joy was a light to everyone who crossed his path. Let’s honor his memory by supporting what mattered most to him: his daughter Sofia and the future he dreamed of for her.
With the blessing and involvement of Joy’s family, this campaign contributes to a legacy trust established in his honor. The trust is designed to provide long-term support for Sofia, with all funds securely held until she reaches adulthood. Joy’s family will help guide the stewardship of this fund and oversee how contributions are responsibly invested in the future.
We are committed to transparency and will share periodic updates so donors can remain informed.
At this time, the family has chosen not to accept donations for funeral arrangements through this effort and is deeply grateful for the generous offers of support.
Thank you for honoring Joy’s life and standing with Sofia’s future.

BIG thanks to Hudson Rouse for hosting this first gathering at his establishment and Pollo Primo, Sosofed, Whoopsies, Argosy and Fishmonger for donating all proceeds from your orders to the family. DJs Scott Morris & Gnosis will bring the sounds and we are oh so grateful.
If you would like to organize a fundraiser or memorial gathering of your own please let us know! Joy loved his community and we know how much you love him back.
LEGACY ARCHIVE:
It will be impossible to capture the depth and breadth of this magnificent human, but we are going to try. With your help we wish to create a digital archive to be shared with Sofia when she is presented with her fund (or sooner).
If you are in possession of any of Joy’s creations over the years or have written a tribute (like the one below), feel moved to share memories past or even a Google Photos album of your times together, please share them to: joyslegacytrust at gmail dot com
Don’t be shy, but please keep it age appropriate.

When I first saw Joy Phrasavath he was spinning on his head on the dance floor at MJQ. I thought he was the actual coolest person I had ever seen. And I would later learn that however cool he seemed, he was 1,000,000 cooler because he was also the kindest person ever. I used to tell him he was like a Christmas stocking -- just when you thought there were no more awesome treats in it, you'd reach in and find another surprise.
I'll always remember him like this, skateboarding down Peachtree St. during Streets Alive, making everyone smile. You are lucky if you meet even one person in your entire lifetime like Joy. So kind, so humble, so generous, so freaking talented at so many things.
Joy I hope you're driving a classic car through the clouds in the dopest Halloween costume the world has ever seen. I only hope that I told you how amazing I think you are as often as you did for me. RIP, dear one - Laurel Thompson
