Journey to Baby Stitt
Doação protegida
Some people come into your life and you just know that they were not only meant for each other, but also meant to start a family. That is the feeling people get when meeting Savannah and Jake. From their first swipe to the first kiss at their wedding, people can picture them fishing with a little one on Saturday morning or walking their dogs with a stroller in hand. Savannah has always wished to be a mom (probably why she’s the first to fix an injury or pack snacks on a girls’ night). She has longed to have a child to teach about love and kindness and share her love of reading with. Jake has also dreamed of being a dad, although his ambitions may be more about having a hunting and fishing buddy. Regardless, both of them have the ultimate goal of showing their child the love of God and loving them in the best way possible. Currently, Savannah and Jake are living in Oak Grove with 2 beautiful pups, but something is missing. Time may not have been a factor in them falling in love, but it is playing a role in their family planning. Infertility is a struggle for 1 in 8 women and, unfortunately, Savannah is the 1.
At the start of this journey, Savannah was already concerned with the possibility of infertility struggles. She had been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which is a hormonal disorder. This could cause woman to have abnormal periods, painful cysts on their ovaries, and may prevent ovulation completely. On top of struggling with PCOS, Savannah has also been diagnosed with endometriosis. Endometriosis is a disorder in which the endometrial tissue, typically contained within the uterus, starts to grow on the outside. This condition can be extremely painful and cause additional fertility issues. Savannah has already been through 2 surgeries to help with this disorder. After the second surgery last year, her doctor recommended getting pregnant within 2-3 years before the misplaced tissue returned. Although she was aware of the possible roadblocks, no one could predict the actual hardships. In the passed few years, the couple has endured intense testing, 2 endometriosis surgeries, a countless number of ultrasounds and blood tests, 4 medicated cycles (ladies: think PMS x100), and 2 failed IUI attempts. Between the time constraint for endometrial tissue growth and no luck with medical intervention via IUI, IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is the only viable step.
As many of you know, IVF can cause huge financial hardship with the overall cost around $30,000. With the help of family and friends, we are hoping to get them closer to their goal of starting a family. We are so grateful for everyone’s willingness to donate or to share this page! Each and every person is making a difference in their life and baby Stitt’s life. Thank you all for loving the couple as much as we do!
