At the age of 16, Joseph Denti took responsibility for his actions, pled guilty, and was incarcerated for second degree murder. thirty four years later, at the age of 50, he is scheduled to be released from the department of corrections. Joseph has applied himself to learning job skills and a trade. During his incarceration, he obtained three certifications from the U.S. Department of of Labor apprenticeship programs; 1) Apprenticeship for a Material Coordinator Clerk, 2) Apprenticeship for a shipping, receiving and traffic clerk and, 3) Apprenticeship for an animal trainer. additionally, he completed a college program for veterinary assisting. One of the main restorative justice programs he has been involved in is the "puppies for parole" dog program. Joseph was one of the first offenders accepted into the program which began in 2010. the goal is to make the dogs more adoptable by providing the dog with basic obedience training. through this program, he has cared for, rehabilitated, and trained 52 shelter dogs and has accrued over 15,000 hours of on-the-job training as a dog trainer.
After 34 years of incarceration, Joseph will literally be starting this new life from the ground up and will need assistance to obtain transportation and basic household and living necessities. if you would like to donate and support Joseph in this transition, please know that your kindness will be greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
