Hello friends and family,
Priscilla, JoJo, and I moved from CA to CT with a dream in our heart- to open a magical Toy Store in the lovely community of Newington, the hidden gem of CT.
As you may have seen on the news, the 300% increase in cost of inventory combined with the 2.5-3 month waiting time to receive product crushed the already challenging in-store retail toy concept that really couldn’t compete with big online platforms. We held character events, arts & crafts, and birthday parties, which built community and love for JoJo’s and for our family. We thought we could break through with the service-based additions, but sadly it wasn’t enough.
Today, we stand before you in response to the outpouring from people all over the world. After our story aired on Fox & Friends on Monday, October 25th, 2021 at around 6:30 am EST, we started receiving numerous requests from people who wanted to help support us in some way financially. We initially turned down the idea of crowdfunding, since we are not going to speak the name of the Lord publicly and then immediately ask for money. However-if you so desire, there is a way you can help.
We took out 3 business loans to open the store. We also have a less-than-thrilled commercial landlord with a lease we are breaking 4.5 years early. If your heart has moved you to give, we would gladly accept a donation of any size that you would like to provide directly for the purpose of paying back the bank and private lender this huge debt. As well, to satisfy past due rent to the commercial space landlord. That would be a tremendous help. There is no amount too small.
Please allow me to be clear- no money will go to us. We will not raise money to pad our pockets. 100% of the money raised would pay off the 3 loans, landlord past due, and any amount above and beyond will be donated directly to JoJo’s school- Elizabeth Green Elementary School. The staff are amazing and they deserve such a blessing.
