Hello everyone. My name is Elijah Oakes and my wife's name is Sofia. Together we have been serving a whole year in Jalostotitlán, Jalisco, Mexico in the "circle of silence" (This area is known as such because it has, possibly, the fewest number of Christians in all of Latin America). We are serving in 2 separate areas where we are planting churches through teaching children reading, writing, English, and math. The classes are designed with the strategy of forming relationships with the people so that we can share the gospel with them. Additionally, Sofia shares the Word of God with the women's groups in both places, while I share the Word with the youth and adults. One place is at one end of Jalos and the other is at the other extreme end of the city. There are a number of adults and children beginning to study the word of God, to understand what the gospel actually is and how to come to know Jesus. Another one of my responsibilities is to share the word of God in a men's drug rehab every week. The drug rehab is outside of Jalos in the countryside.

We need a reliable vehicle to commute back and forth from our house and the places where we are serving. Jalos does not have public transportation. By having a vehicle, we will be able to be more effective in our work in Jalos. We are requesting that you prayerfully consider partnering with us by helping us in reaching our goal. Здравствуйте, друзья. Меня зовут Илья Окс, а мою жену зовут София. В течение года мы служим в Халостотитлане, Халиско, Мексика, в «круге тишины» (Этот район известен как таковой, потому что здесь, наименьшее количество христиан во всей Латинской Америке). Мы работаем в двух разных районах города, где занимаемся основанием церквей, обучая детей чтению, письму, английскому языку и математике.

Жти занятия нам помогают установлению отношений с людьми, чтобы мы могли поделиться с ними Евангелием. Кроме того, София делится Словом Божьим с женскими группами в обоих местах, а я делюсь Словом с молодежью и взрослыми. Одно из мест находится на одном конце Халоса, а другое – на другом конце города. Несколько взрослых и детей начинают изучать Слово Божье, чтобы понять, что такое Евангелие и как познакомиться с Иисусом. Еще одна из моих обязанностей – делиться Словом Божьим каждую неделю в реабилитационном центре для наркозависимых мужчин. Реабилитационный центр находится за пределами Халоса, в сельской местности.

Нам нужен надежный автомобиль, чтобы добираться от нашего дома до мест, где мы служим. В Халосе нет общественного транспорта. Наличие автомобиля позволит нам быть более эффективными в нашей работе в Халосе. Мы просим вас молиться о возможности поддержать нас, помогая достичь нашей цели. Любая сумма будет очень признательна.
