Johnny Christy's Recovery Fund
Donazione protetta
Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you may know, our brother Johnny was involved in a life changing accident last month while working in remote Alaska. During the accident, Johnny’s right arm was amputated below the elbow, and his collar bone was broken. He was medevacked to the Trauma Center at Harborview Medical in Seattle, Washington where surgeons worked tirelessly to reattach the limb. Unfortunately, after initial success, a blood clot developed in the reattached hand and the doctors were forced to re-amputate. After two weeks and five surgeries in Seattle, Johnny was stable enough to fly home to Minnesota where he has begun the long journey to recovery and a new way of life.
Despite all that has happened to him, Johnny has maintained an optimistic attitude. He is determined to accept the situation, adjust his expectations and move forward. He is tirelessly re-training his non-dominant, left hand to perform the everyday tasks needed to be independent and self-sufficient. We, his family, have been impressed with his acceptance, but know his life will never be quite the same.
Unbeknownst to him, this GoFundMe page has been setup by Johnny’s four brothers. Our wish is to present him with donations from friends and family to help him with his increased, short term expenses while he adapts to a new way of life. We appreciate any amount that you can contribute. If a monetary gift is not within your means at this time, a simple call or card of encouragement will go a long way and be just as appreciated.
With thanks,
The Christy Brothers (Jason, Justin, Jamie and Joseph)
