Support for John Evans and his Family
On Wednesday, 19 February 2020, at the young age of 34, John Evans was involved in a serious workplace accident. As a result of the accident, John lost his left leg from above the knee and was air-lifted to hospital for emergency surgery. From this day on, John’s life will be changed forever.
John and his wife, Karen, have three young children; Ryan, who has recently started high school and, Hayley and Brock, both in primary school. John loves sports and being active, whether it is kicking a ball around with his children or being the first one on the dance-floor. John is an avid Cronulla Sharks supporter, has a passion for cars and country music.
It is going to be an incredibly long road for John and his family. John has already had to undergo a second successful surgery and has commenced the rehabilitation process. John’s resilience and determination is one to be admired. With his positive attitude and willingness to adjust to his ‘new normal’ we have no doubt that John will recover, in time, like a true champion. However, this process is going to be significantly costly for this young and hardworking family. While we believe many of these costs may be covered, there will be many unexpected costs that will arise along the way that will not be covered.
