We are gathering funds and volunteers to help bring Joe Young back to Country and building him a Cob home.

This fundraiser is put together by myself, Isabella, to raise money for Joe Young. The funds will go to both Joe Youngs family and the team who are building him his cob home. Spearheaded by David Mitsak and his daughter Sienna. David has a history of cob building and his own way of building by bringing community together to build with song and dance at the centre of the building project.

By bringing Joe back to Country, we are contributing to protecting sacred waters, restoring community, and preserving ancient lore for future generations.

Joe Young has given permission for the Primal Divine and Isabella Gillespie to build and launch this project.

Joe is one of the last living Indigenous lore men who walked out of the desert on foot. His return to Turkey Bore on Pintupi Country represents not only a homecoming — but the preservation of one of the most ancient living cultures and wisdom traditions on Earth.

What the Funds Will Support

The intention of this GoFundMe is to bring this vision to life in several stages.

Stage One: Laying the Foundation

We are raising funds to establish the foundation for Joe’s home, built from natural materials to house him and eight family's living together on Country.

This first stage focuses on:

Bringing out David and his natural building team from Sydney to meet with Joe and his family.

Hosting a natural building camp to begin constructing a camp stove and model home.

Collaborating with the family to co-create their vision, ensuring cultural alignment and self-determination.

We are aiming for This stage to take place in November 2025.

Stage Two: Building the Home

The second stage will see the full team return to complete the natural home build and strengthen the foundations of community life on Country.

This phase includes:

Building Joe’s home using sustainable, locally sourced materials.

Teaching natural building skills to the local mob including children.

Weaving in ceremony, song, and dance and listening to country.

This project is not just about building a home — it’s about reviving traditional ways of living with the land.

We will also be welcoming volunteers who feel called to be part of this sacred work next Autumn 2026.

There will be two roles:

The Build Team: builders and hands-on learners guided by David’s natural building methods.

The Nurturer Team: those providing meals, care, and support for elders and children, helping hold the community field

Media Team : the intention to film the project so that we can launch more natural builds on country.

By bringing Joe and his family home, tribal lore is reactivated — and with that comes a powerful, lawful protection. Under traditional lore, the presence of a recognised lore man prevents outside forces from entering or taking from the land.

This is why getting Joe back home now is crucial. His return re-establishes cultural sovereignty, ensures the land is cared for, and keeps the waters protected for future generations.
