If you know her, you love her and now is our chance to give back. One of our own, *Jodie Lollar*, was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2018.
Jodie made a choice early in her diagnoses to change the face of cancer. She chose to fight different. She graciously opened up in her most vulnerable moments to educate us and allow us to all battle with her. Her journey most importantly included quick wit and much humor. Cancer causes devastation and destroys dreams, but not this time cancer. *Not this time!*
Over the last year, Jodie’s treatment has required many hours at the chemo bar enjoying the latest and greatest modern medicine, many scans, pokes, and prods. In September Jodie had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Yes, they are fake, the real ones tried to kill her. Her journey doesn’t stop there. She will continue with another 12 cycles of chemo. Her spirits are strong but her body is weak. *She needs us!*
She finds her strength by those that surround her. Her husband Kenny, sons Garett and Cody and her brother and family; Jimmy, Amber, Caleb, and Abbey are her foundation. She fights for them. Her mother and aunts who she watched lose to cancer, she fights for them. The beautiful woman that sits next to her while they share a chemo cocktail, she fights for her! They too are strong, but tired! *They need us!*
Jodie’s smile lights up the room, her presence is calm and her mouth is often unfiltered. We love the “genuine, promise-keeping, jump-in-to-help-anywhere, brings-a-smile-everywhere-she-goes” Jodie. *We can help her!*
Together we can raise funds for the family to alleviate the financial
burden and allow everyone to focus on what really matters – loving one another.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. – *Let’s Dance in the Rain with Jodie!*
With Grace and Mercy,
-Team Lollar
