Jessica Sheasby’s Surgery and Recovery
Donazione protetta
A little over seven weeks ago, Jessica tested positive for COVID. Her body was severely compromised, and she ended up with Double COVID pneumonia, Sepsis, and was admitted to the hospital the week before Christmas. Concurrently, while all of this was happening, the doctors were also addressing an abnormal mass located on her left ovary. She had a complete Hysterectomy back in the summer of 2012, but the doctor decided to leave one ovary so Jessica would not be sent into menopause at the age of 32.
As soon as Jessica was cleared by the hospital doctors, she went back to her Gynecologist to have an updated ultrasound of her ovary. At that time, they discovered the mass had grown larger than a grapefruit and had changed in structure and form. Her pain level had also significantly increased, and the mass had become visibly larger. In the process of being referred to an Oncologist, supernaturally a family friend connected her to the best Gynecological Oncologist, who practices at a world-renowned hospital in this region. She is under the care of some of the best physicians and medical staff, and we are grateful for how the Lord is moving in every detail of this medical journey.
As you can imagine, this has been a lot for Jessica to process, especially after having her body compromised so negatively by COVID. Daily, she is navigating recovering from COVID as well as significant pain from the abdominal mass. As her family, we are watching her walk this out with strength, hope in the Lord, and full trust that her Good Father is going to heal her and restore her body.
It is miraculous how this process is divinely coming together. Within a day of being informed she needed to see an Oncologist, she was connected to the top Doctor in Colorado and a plan was made for surgery to take place Tuesday, February 2nd. With this process comes a lot of up-front costs. The hospital just sent her the up-front out-of-pocket costs she needs to pay before surgery, and they total nearly $30,000.
Many of you have asked how you can support Jessica and her family through this healing journey. We have set up a Go Fund Me to give you an opportunity to express love and support for the Sheasby family as well as post updates as Jessica walks through surgery and recovery.
Thank you to all who have surrounded her with love, prayers, and have stepped in to meet practical needs while she was in the hospital and recovering from COVID. We were never meant to do life alone, and we are full of gratitude for the friends and family that are desiring to surround the Sheasby family with love, prayers, and tangible support.
