Our amazing friend Jennifer is 42 years old and was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer early this year. For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary human being. She is generous, caring, loving, full of life, unbelievably strong and has always put her friends and family above herself.
What is multiple myeloma? MM is the second most commonly diagnosed blood cancer, after non-Hodgkin lymphoma, yet few people know much about this horrible disease. This unfortunate disease primarily affects, older males. Yet here we are, Jennifer, a strong young woman. None of this makes sense.
Jennifer (aka Jenny Fox) is the closest person I know to a superhero. She’s a fighter and she plans on kicking MM in the ass. Jennifer plans on attacking this head on and plans on being aggressive in her treatment.
Recently, she got accepted into University of Arkansas Myeloma Institute. This is the place she needs to be. What does that mean? She is required to put her current life on hold for the next 6 months. She will be traveling to Arkansas multiple times, find short-term living in Little Rock, and unable to work. Not to mention the painful treatments ahead of her.
Her company is extremely supportive and flexible, which she is grateful. Jennifer has short term disability but unfortunately it does not cover full pay. A lot of her medical expenses are not covered, not to mention all the necessary travel and accommodations plus the everyday necessities of life, money is only getting tighter.
Jennifer is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support.
Jennifer is unaware of this GoFundMe fundraising account. She might yell at me for starting it as she never wants to inconvenience anyone or make a “big deal” about anything. But we all know this…Jennifer is a big deal…and she needs our love and support. Whether you know Jennifer firsthand or not, you probably know someone that knows her. She has been tremendously supportive to me and I know to countless others. I’m not sure where I would be without her. We are all better for having Jennifer in this world.
Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is what is most important so she can focus on beating this thing. Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
