Jean's Stroke Recovery Fund

On April 30, 2024, I returned home from a business trip to find our beloved Jean experiencing unusual sleepiness and complaints of migraines. Recognizing this as out of the ordinary, I rushed her to Montefiore Hospital and then subsequently transferred her to the neurology center at Westchester Medical Center, where through multiple CT scans and MRIs, it was confirmed that Jean had suffered multiple embolic strokes.

The strokes impacted her frontal lobe and the left side of her brain, resulting in cognitive processing issues including mixed aphasia which affects her speech fluency and comprehension, right-side body weakness, and significant fatigue.

The initial 3-6 months post-stroke are the most critical for recovery. We are now entirely focused on Jean getting rest and very importantly, proper post-stroke therapy, emphasizing the importance of acute stroke rehabilitation with specialized professionals. She is currently at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, undergoing intensive in-patient therapy for a few weeks before going home to continue her out-patient therapy and recovery.

This GoFundMe page is to support Jean getting the therapy she needs as quickly as she needs it. The funds will go towards her out-of-pocket health bills, loss of earnings and the continued cost of her stroke rehabilitation, including intensive communication therapy and physiotherapy which continue for at least 6-9 months, with chances it could even extend to beyond one year.

Jean is not only a loving and dedicated wife and mother to our two beautiful girls, Estelle and Marielle, but also one of the most caring and generous friends one can have. She is incredibly intelligent, hard-working and always the first to help when somebody needs her. This time, she needs all of you.

We all know Jean is a fighter and has such a strong spirit and will recover. She just needs your support to get her there.
