Aidens journey
Aiden is my son, he is a smart, happy, talented and most importantly a true and genuine young man. One thing that many people don't know is that Aiden is my 16 year old transgender son.At five years old he knew who he was before the rest of us did. He told me one day that God had made a mistake and put him in the wrong body. Aiden was born Ava, my sweet beautiful baby girl, what I didn't know was that he was going to become my beautiful son.
Aidens journey has been very difficult at times, God knows the teen years are very difficult for teens in general, but for a transgender kid just trying to fit in is at times very tough. We were lucky enough to find Dr Johanna Olsen at Children's Hospital Los Angrles, and she has been a life savor. Aiden is transitioning and is now at the point where he needs to have top surgery. For a young trans man, this is literally the most important part in his journey.
He is going to be having sugery in May, in San Francisco. Unfortunately like has thrown us a few challenges recently, such as the surgery that I have just been through.
We need to raise money to get us to San Francisco, and for us to stay for about a week while Aiden recovers from surgery.
We would be so grateful for any help at all. This is truly a life changing surgery for Aiden, and he is counting the days until his outside matches his insides.
