Jason and Kim Brain Cancer Fund

We ask that you prayerfully consider donating to my parents as they journey through this trying time.

On March 15th my step father found out he had a brain tumor. My mom and stepdad’s lives have been turned upside down in an instant. My parents are not ones to ask for help but I feel inclined to reach out for help for them.

They have both been off work since March 15th. They have already sold one of their vehicles, along with eliminating their cable and internet and a few other things to adjust from two incomes down to just one. We don’t foresee Jason being able to return to work. Hospital bills are starting to come in and I can only imagine the cost of 2 long hospital stays, 2 major brain surgeries, their monthly bills, transportation to and from drs appointments, and soon chemo and radiation as well. If anyone feels inclined to help in any way it would be greatly appreciated.

On March 15th Jason was taken to the ER for headaches and his right leg was causing him some difficulties walking. They were told that he had a golf ball size tumor on his brain. He was immediately hospitalized. On March 22nd he underwent surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery was very high risk for chance of stroke, hemorrhage or what kind of quality of life he would have afterwards. Although our family did witness a miracle that day, we didn’t realize the rough road Jason would be facing after that successful surgery. The tumor was diagnosed as high grade glioma. We thought he was on the road to recovery and about to start chemotherapy and radiation.

The day after his 44th birthday on Easter Sunday he woke up with an excruciating headache and had a seizure and was taken by ambulance to the ER. The next morning Jason underwent another craniotomy for an infection that was growing under the flap that they had put back in from the previous surgery. They did not put the flap back in at this time. Sometime down the road after his treatments and once he gets his strength back he’ll have to undergo another craniotomy to have a custom made flap put back in. This unexpected infection, second surgery within four weeks and 6 weeks of infusion antibiotics has set back his chemo and radiation treatments.

As you can see my parents have a very scary, unknown, and uncertain path ahead of them. We trust that Jason is in God’s hands. We are so grateful to God for everything He has seen us through. We will continue to take it one day at a time putting our faith in the Lord! I know God hears our prayers! Jason is young, strong physically, mentally, and faithfully in Jesus Christ. He has a tough road ahead of him and so much to fight for. He is a father to four, Braden (21), Logan (18), Levi (16), and Kaitlyn (myself 23). A grandfather to two Asher (2) and Grace(6 months). Our family cherishes each day we have and holds all our memories close to the heart. We still have many more to make. We hope and pray that this fundraiser will help fill the gaps financially so they can focus on healing and spending time with their family.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
