James Godfrey's Heart and Stroke appeal
Today is the 10 year anniversary of the scariest day of my life. On August 16th 2014, I suffered a major ischemic stroke while driving in Kent. I was fortunate enough to almost fully recover, but this experience gave me a new perspective on life, and just how finite it can be. I try to remind myself of this everyday as I aspire to be the best version of myself to my family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues. Unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky as me. Without amazing organizations like the Heart and Stroke Foundation I might not have been as fortunate. This message is not for me, but for the families that will inevitably suffer the trauma of someone they love suffering a stroke.
If you know me, you know I don’t ask for much, but today I am proudly asking everyone in my network for this. If you can, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation so they can continue doing the work that saves lives just like they saved mine. If you are not in a position to contribute financially, please share this across your network and spread the word! Each and every one of your contributions will make a tangible impact on someones life. Let’s all work together to make sure that the next person who succumbs to such a frightening medical scare has the expertise and resources to tackle it head on.
Thank you, James
