Jamarion Battles Batten Disease

Jamarion is a 9 year old boy diagnosed with Batten disease. I met him when he was diagnosed in kindergarten. I was his teacher. Batten disease is a group of genetic conditions that cause cells to collect waste instead of getting rid of it. This leads to seizures, vision loss and problems with thinking and movement. Symptoms get worse over time. It leads to early death for children. There’s no cure for Batten disease but research is ongoing to learn more. He currently has a pediatric hospice team and his Mom, Jameria is taking care of him and his other 3 younger siblings. Any assistance with the many bills they are facing would make a difference in her stress level.
