Irma Galvan battle with ALS

A lot of you may all remember the ice bucket challenge raising awareness for ALS. ALS is very real and has affected this family. Irma is a loving mother who just two years ago had to mourn the loss of her son who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 26. All the pain that has afflicted this family is now ever so present yet again. Irma was diagnosed with ALS in February 2016. She was told her life expectancy would be between 3-5 years. Well it has been 10 months now and she is completely bed ridden. She just got a feeding tube inserted on 12/8/16 and will be having a surgery to insert a trach. She also got pneumonia this past weekend. Her voice is just about completely gone and she struggles with each breath. These are all but some of the many complications and results of this horrible disease. The family is struggling to keep it together. Since she has lost employment she has also lost her insurance coverage. The family is in the middle of trying and waiting and hoping for social security to kick in. In the mean time they are paying out of pocket. She is now fighting for her life in Memorial Herman Sugarland. There are many expenses associated with having a family member in the hospital. Stephanie her daughter works full time and goes to the University of Houston full time. She has been the sole provider for the family. She has taken the responsibility of her brother Henry who is a senior is high school. We are asking not just for money but words of encouragement and your prayers.
