Hi, my name is Raquesha Wilson, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart as I mourn the sudden and tragic loss of my brother, Raquan Wilson.

On July 6th, my brother was senselessly murdered in downtown Wilmington. Our family is shattered. He was more than a victim of violence. He was a single father, a brother, a friend, and a soul who loved deeply and gave wholeheartedly. Most of all, he was a proud father to two beautiful daughters who are now left without their parents.

What hurts even more is that he’s gone before we ever imagined, and we’re left not only grieving but trying to honor his memory in the way he deserves including laying him to rest next to his love Kwanishia Nelson. They shared a bond that was unbreakable, even in death.

• Securing a burial plot beside Kwanishia, where he can finally be at peace
