In Memory of Gabrielle Chillemi

Sal Chillemi has been a part of the Summer Shack family since the first day we opened our doors in 2000. If you've visited the Shack, you know Sal; he is truly the heartbeat at the center of what we do every day. Sal has touched all of our lives, and the lives of so many of our patrons with his kindness and dedication. We are consistently in awe of him and his caring nature; on many occasions we have seen guests return after long absences only to hear Sal inquire about their children, their change in career, and all the details of their lives that he remembers and values. He is truly a diamond in the rough.

Many members of the Shack team have worked alongside Sal for 5, 10, 15+ years- he is our family, and we love him dearly. 

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Sal's beloved daughter, Gabrielle Chillemi. Gabrielle was a member of the Shack Team for several years, and all who had the pleasure to work with her remember her positivity, her unparalleled compassion for others, and her warm-hearted nature. 

She was Sal's angel, and we want to do our best to support him as he faces this unimaginable tragedy. While we can never take away the pain of losing a child, we can help ensure the related costs and missed work will never be a burden. 

Let's work together to show Sal how much he means to so many; he has brought so much joy to our lives, and now is our chance to give back to him and his family.
