In loving memory of Josiah Gogos

Dear friends, family and compassionate community,

On behalf of Josiah’s family, I would like to express our thanks and God’s blessings to you for taking the time to visit our donation page for Josiah’s funeral expenses and family support.

My name is Louise and I am a dear friend to Melissa & Stephen Gogos. My 4 year old daughter Isabelle was best friends with their son, Josiah. Both Melissa and I share a bond. We love Jesus and our two beautiful children have Down syndrome.

On 30th November 2023, my friends came home from the hospital without their beautiful son, Josiah. Josiah was feeling unwell with a bad cough, fevers and stomach pains. He was kept in the hospital for two days, all things pointing to a speedy recovery and Josiah getting back to what he loved doing- being with his family and exploring. Unfortunately nothing could be done to save his precious life. Josiah’s death is a shock to all that knew him and loved him. He was a strong and healthy 5 year old, ready to start a new adventure with his family, moving to Western Australia and starting big school. Devastatingly, his family now face this move without their darling Josiah.

Josiah leaves behind his parents, sisters Zipporah (21) & Jahziel (17), brother Isaiah (8) and a strong family network of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Josiah was a beautiful boy inside and out. Actions spoke louder than words with him. He was so gentle and kind - cuddling my little Isabelle, showing patience when she slowly maneuvered equipment that he could so competently do and looking out for her. He loved dancing, running & swimming. He was a problem solver and risk taker. You could often find Melissa on the play equipment, going down the water slide or keeping Jo constantly learning and enjoying life. He definitely kept us all on our toes, God bless him!

The love of God has helped this family stay strong in their faith through the turmoil of losing a child.
