Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m a singer-songwriter writing music that journeys through the healing process of the human soul.

I’m currently working on an album called In Beauty and Sorrow. This full-length album explores how both beauty and sorrow coexist and how this tension invites us to search for hope.

Though we often talk describe life in “seasons” –hills and valleys– the reality is that beauty and sorrow rarely take turns. More often, they show up together. They overlap, intertwine, and ask us to live in the middle of both.

A few years ago, I found myself constantly waiting for each grief to pass so that joy could begin. But as sorrow lingered, and joy felt fleeting, I began to understand something deeper: we live between Jesus’ first and second coming, in both the redeemed and yet-to-be redeemed. We live in beauty and sorrow.

A baby is born while a loved one fades. A new home, a new job—paired with a life-altering diagnosis and a near-death car accident. Life keeps handing us both, often in the same breath.

I often find myself wishing it could be just one or the other. Let me grieve or let me rejoice. The constant compartmentalization feels like too much. How do we live with both? And if beauty and sorrow always coexist, how do we know what’s still worth hoping for?

In Beauty and Sorrow is a full-length album for us all as we live in this tension, searching for hope.
